Concrete Windowsills
In addition to the soap dish contract from Basil Read, we were asked to make windowsills for the Nurses’ Residence in Pretoria too. We made them in 2 different sizes, 600x195mm & 600x155mm, with the front long side a bullnose to allow for water run off. We have since started using them in domestic applications too. Please contact us to enquire about pricing, and remember we can make them in any of the standard 41 colours that we have! Please see the picture gallery below for photo's of the 2 different size windowsills.
Concrete Soapdishes
We have completed a contract for Basil Read, making concrete soap dishes for a Nurses’ Residence in Pretoria. We had an order of over 500 to complete, which we did in 3 days. The need was to create a very durable soap dish, and the only ones available in the market place were of plastic type material. The concern here was that because the ablutions would be used by many people often that they would break & need replacing before long. We manufactured a positive, got the moulds pulled & were soon casting concrete soap dishes! We can make these in any of the standard 41 colours. Please see pics of a sample soap dish in the picture gallery below.
Garden Path
This week I decided to do a bit of DIY, and create a new garden path outside the showroom. This consisted of making 110x110 garden cobbles in Karoo 3 colour which created a border of sorts, and using 460x230mm pavers in Angola 9 colour which I had. To fill in the spaces between the pavers I used crushed stone which you can buy at most large hardware stores.
I also planted a succulent which was just dying to be noticed into an old pot that was standing empty (see the pic below) and the idea is to eventually mosaic the pot. Now all we need are a few more summer showers & the garden will be looking ever so pretty again after the long dry winter!

Tiled Driveway
I was asked recently to manufacture large grey tiles for a driveway area in Greenside. This was made possible because the area under the tiles was relatively flat & a concrete screed was laid to act as a surface bed for the tiles. The job came out really nicely, and the acrylic sealer which has been applied to the tiles will prevent any oil from soaking into the tiles.
If a concrete screed is thrown beneath the tiles, any size tile would be suitable for a driveway, namely 230x230mm, 340x340mm & 230x460mm & 460x460mm. I would recommend the darker shade of grey as anything lighter would tend to show up the tyre tread marks.
Tiles used are 460x460mm smooth tiles, colour Angola 15

Concrete Hearts
I have been making concrete hearts for some time now, but recently decided to put a few inspirational sayings onto them as I have done with my larger pavers. These are proving to be ever so popular as gifts, paper weights, pot holders, garden ornaments, you name it! Anything can be written onto them so if you have something special in mind for someone special please contact me to create a one of a kind gift!
They measure 135x120mm & weigh approx 460 grams.
They retail for R40 each & make lovely gifts for family & friends

This is a really remarkable house, with exquisite finishes, an impressive entrance with a walkway over a koi pond, & stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Riven & Rock Cladding
"Cladding is the application of one material over another to provide a skin or layer intended to control the infiltration of weather elements, or for aesthetic purposes...."
We are very excited & happy to introduce our new range of wall cladding, which we are sure is going to be a huge success. We have 2 ranges, namely Riven cladding & Rock cladding. The Riven cladding, which looks just like natural sandstone pieces, is popular on feature walls, behind mirrors in bathrooms, kitchen splashbacks, fireplaces, & outdoors on water features & chimneys or any area that can do with a bit of glamourising. With cladding being a popular trend in home design these days, we have had such an interest in this product, with such stunning end results. What makes this cladding different from others is that there are no grout gaps in between the individual pieces, they are stuck on tight up against each other.
Our Rock cladding is also suitable for indoor applications, but will feature predominantly in outdoor areas because of the rugged chiseled look of this cladding. As the name suggests, this cladding looks like rock pieces that have been chiseled & applied onto the wall, with grouting gaps in between each piece. Please see our picture gallery for inspiration.
Our Riven cladding sells at R250p/m2 & the Rock cladding sells at R200p/m2. Please come to the showroom to have a look at these stunning new products.
